David Watts: Setting Standards.

David Watts. Now not only a great song sang by two of the best bands there was, but also a new clothing label on the scene. Ever since the initial promo shots were released last year, I knew with time, David Watts would become one of the scenes most loved labels. Having just completed their fist A/W collection now it's time for the start of their Spring/Summer range to arrive and let me tell you it looks top. Infusing smooth lines with cutting edge cloth David Watts really captures the clothing of the 60's with that distinct modern day feel. Modernism is constantly moving forward and David Watts acknowledges this with taste, and individual garments. It's always refreshing to see new brands arise on the scene, it gives us mods more variety and plenty more to spend our hard earned cash on!
Taking inspiration from 1960's Britain, Ivy League style of the US and classic Italian fashion David Watts really encapsulates what mod is! Quality, good looking and stylish clothing is what their range is all about. As they say themselves this is clothing suitable for the modern gentleman which you will be proud to wear. Taking interest from music and sports the brand really promote that clean, fresh, finished look which every outfit needs. David Watts is the type of brand that will really make a difference, before long they will be one of the most influential brands on the scene, along with the likes of Fred Perry and Ben Sherman.

With a great first collection David Watts will be certain to Move on Up! Like what I did there? Staple members of their collection include, individual parkas, smooth knitwear and classic shirts, all of which look like the sort of gear Weller, and The Specials were wearing circa 79, what a look! I have two of David Watt's knitted polo shirts and they are by far two of the best knitwear pieces I have ever had. I have the 'Navy knitted polo shirt' and the 'Cream block knitted polo' both pieces look as if they've dropped straight out of the 60's. Great colours, fit and feel they are certainly pieces that are needed in any mod/gentleman about town's wardrobe. With fabric covered buttons and a Mother of pearl back neck collar button, it's details like these which make the David Watts knitwear really stand out. This is the kind of attention to detail that modernism is about! I look for this sort of thing when buying my clothing, it takes me longer to purchase things but in the long run is worth it for that extra thread with a bit of individuality thrown in. Anyway back to the range.
As well as divine knitwear, David Watts have some lovely shirts in a paisley print and a polka dot print. classic pieces with that individual David Watts flare. The Polo/Cycle Shirts are quality, great colours combined with top materials and there you have it that slim 60's sporty look, chuck on a pair of vintage Adidas Italia and there's your outfit sorted! As well as the iconic fishtail parka, David Watts also have monkey jackets in White and Navy and a Harrington also in Navy, all ideal for that classic look. Denim, T-Shirts and Accessories have all been added to the range which make for a complete catalogue of clobber.
David Watts, creating the look to have for that modern gentleman. Fa fa fa fa fa fa fa fa wish I could dress like David Watts!
